What To Expect
 
The Walnut Grove Triathlon swim distance is 750 meters.  Adult athletes will begin with a shallow water entry and snake their way across the 50 meter pool lanes exiting at the deep end.  Upon exiting the swim, athletes will make their way to the transition area by way of the doors located at the side of the pool and proceed down the steps, across the community centre parking lot and down the stairs to the transition area located in the Walnut Grove Secondary School parking lot.

The Walnut Grove pool is located at 8889 Walnut Grove Drive.  For more information about the pool please visit the Walnut Grove Community Centre website.

If you are a new swimmer, it is recommended that you gain some experience in a 50m pool setting prior to race day.  Walnut Grove Pool offers 50m swim lanes throughout the week, please check with the pool for further details.

Kids Of Steel: KOS athletes will enter the pool at the deep end for a swim start at 7:00am.

Ages 12-15 will swim a 300m swim course snaking their way under the lane ropes in the 50m pool before exiting the pool and heading to the KOS specific transition area.

Ages 8-11 will swim a 100m swim course by completing one lap of the 50m pool before exiting the pool and heading to the KOS specific transition area. 

It is suggested that KOS athletes gain some experience in a 50m pool prior to race day.  Walnut Grove Pool offers 50m swim lanes throughout the week, please check with the pool for further details.

Please note: KOS athletes are not allowed outside assistance and parents and spectators are not permitted in the transition area.  Please encourage all participants during their events.
