The Triathlete's Training Diary
$18.95 Introduction by
Joe Friel.
Endurance athletes of all ages and ability levels invest
countless hours in tough rides and workouts so they can race
farther and faster from year to year. Whether they work with a
coach or train independently, triathletes rely on their training
log to tell them when to push harder and when to back off. With
all of the recent technological advancements in training, it is
more important than ever to have a place to consolidate training
data, track progress, reshape goals throughout the season, and,
perhaps most importantly, listen to the way the body responds
from day to day.
Designed with collaboration from triathletes
and coaches, this next generation of training diary will make it
easier than ever to record and interpret every component of
multisport training and is a companion to Joe Friel's
bestselling book The triathlete's training bible. Coach Joe
Friel gives athletes a thorough introduction to the essential
details of training and keeping a log. For athletes who are
designing their own annual training schedule, he provides a
guide to planning the entire season. With 53 undated
weekly spreads, these diaries are the most comprehensive
training logs available with space for:
- every training detail, from weather
conditions to resting heart rate & daily nutrition
- charts to organize race results & fitness
indicators
- physiological test results such as VO2max
& lactate threshold
- two-a-day workouts & weekly summary data
specific to triathlon
The Triathlete’s Training Diary
takes training seriously. Athletes can be confident that they
will be better prepared for competition and have insight to the
progress made along the way. |

17 Hours to Glory
$26.95 From the
moment the starting gun is fired on Kona's sandy beach at the Ironman®
World Championship, triathletes have 17 hours to cross the finish line.
It’s a feat marking the ultimate achievement in the sport. 17 Hours
to Glory is one of only a few books to commemorate this dramatic
quest. Seventeen compelling stories allow readers to experience the
competition first hand, revealing tremendous athleticism, unbelievable
capacity for suffering, and true strength of character.
The personal stories of triathlon's most epic
characters come to life in this book, beginning with the famous story of
Julie Moss's determination to reach the finish line, paving the way for
future champions like Mark Allen and Paula Newby-Fraser, and a new
generation of superstars in Greg Welch and Chrissie Wellington. 17
Hours to Glory tells the stories of a sedentary secretary with all
of the wrong habits taking up triathlon to lose weight, a nun who races
triathlons to bring attention to her causes, and two men with a rivalry
so intense that their disabilities fade into the shadows. Injury, tough
breaks, and down to the wire finishes highlight years of dedication to
reaching a goal.
Some will become champions, some will overcome all
odds just to finish, only to come back and do it again. Triathlon’s most
dynamic heroes are candidly portrayed in 17 Hours to Glory, a
book that puts no limits on the possibilities of the human spirit.

Bicycle Dreams
- DVD
$19.99
Stephen
Auerbach
The Race Across America is an epic, 3000-mile
bicycle race from the Pacific to the Atlantic. First held in 1982,
RAAM is considered the most challenging sporting event in the world.
Top riders finish in under 10 days, riding over 300 miles per day
and sleeping only a few hours per night. Amid the sleepless grind,
riders must endure the searing heat of the Mojave Desert, the
agonizing climbs and descents of the Rockies, the driving winds of
the Great Plains, and the twisting switchbacks of the Appalachians
before the final sprint to the finish line in Atlantic City. With
little prize money at stake, the fundamental goal of the race is
simply to finish, a challenge half of all riders fail to meet. |
