BIKE ROUTE # 2 Mission, BC
Submitted by: Hydrosloth
Date: Nov. 27/04
Difficulty Rating: 08 - Somewhere in between

Time: 1.5 hours

Distance: 36 KM

Start Point: Cedar and 7th  - Mission BC

End Point: Same

Bike Friendly: Shoulder most of the way - Take care

Traffic Rating: 1 - Low Traffic

Training Focus: A Bit of Everything

Route Highlight: "You and your V02 Max"

Details: Park at the Petro-Can on the corner of 7th and Cedar.

Nothing like a 2 k climb as warm up - all the way up to D. Trunk Road. Left on DTR, and follow it - note left hand turn after about 2 K and keep on the Dewdney, down past the Hayward/Stave Dam and UP alll the way to Wilson (about 4/5 K from the dam).

Down Wilson and then cross the dam again - a left turn (as Hayward Lake becomes the Stave River).

Follow this and then turn after left about 2 K onto Keystone and some heavy but inspired climbing. Hold onto Keystone until it rejoins Dewdney Trunk Road and finally back onto Cedar and down it to 7th.

Word has it that Fausto COPPI used this route back in the 50s when France was covered in snow in the months of Dec - Feb.

(well - maybe)
