HED H3 Front Please call
for pricing
HED's H3 wheels offer full on aero
performance in any conditions. The key to the wide range
of performance is the combination of a 55mm deep rim
section, the airfoil section spokes and the smooth
transitions between the two. The 55mm deep rim keeps
drag low at shallow yaw angles. When the yaw angle goes
past 15° the aero spokes work to keep the wheel from
stalling, and drag stays flat. The optimum wind angle
for the H3 is an amazing 17.5°. H3 clinchers are made
with a light and durable alloy rim cap. Tubulars are
offered in either alloy rim cap or all carbon.

HED Jet - 4
Front Clincher Please call for pricing
The stealth fighter of the Jet
series. Jet 4 are a truly everyday wheel with excellent
aero properties. Remember junior year at high school?
That one girl (or boy) who came back from summer break
completely different? You thought you knew her all
along, then BAM! what happened?!
Intended riders include:
- roadies that are afraid of
looking like aero geeks, but still want scary fast
wheels.
- weight conscious riders who
may or may not be in a light bike competition with
their riding buddies, but still want scary fast
wheels
- riders who live where there
are enough steep hills that weight matters more to
them than the other 95% of us, but still want scary
fast wheels.
- the Hed sales and design
staff, who lust after scary fast commuter wheels.
The above riders will love the
Jet4. Seriously, Jet 4 really are all condition wheels.
If you are a lightweight rider who gets blown around
easily, they’re for you. If you want seriously fast
wheels but don’t want to commit to a full on 60mm or
more aero set, they’re for you.

HED Jet - 6 Front Clincher
Please call for pricing
The first Aero clincher wheels, ever
since 1990. The new 60mm aero section made specifically
for the C2 rim make the Jet 6 better than ever. They’re
more aero, they roll better, corner better, and they’re
lighter. Even in crosswinds, the Jet 6 wheels are fast,
it takes a strong crosswind to stall them out.
Climbing? They’re plenty light for
climbing. HED modeled a rider on their power/drag
software to illustrate it. The model rider goes 190lbs
total bike and rider weight, and HED gave him 275 watts,
pointed him into a 9kph headwind. HED calculated two
sets of numbers, one on 1320g wheelset with the drag
characteristics of traditional low profile wheels, and a
300g heavier wheelset with the drag of Jet 6s. The lower
drag of the Jets kept the model rider going faster until
the grade reached 7.5%. Unless your race is all uphill
in the mountains, Jets are going to get you to the
finish faster.

HED Jet - 9 Front Clincher
Please call for pricing
Part of Hed’s long list of “firsts”,
the Jet 9 was designed in 1995 and production started in
1996. It was groundbreaking 13 years ago. Thanks to
HED's extensive re-design the Jet 9 is as revolutionary
as the original. What makes the Jet 9 so good, and
so much better than its predecessor? It is all
interrelated. The new wheel is more aero, it has lower
rolling resistance, it corners and handles better, and
it more comfortable – all increase speed, and all are a
result of HED's C2 rim technology. The C2 rim is 23mm
wide; and that fact alone does not make it
revolutionary, and by itself a 23mm rim width is not
“technology”. What HED did with a 23mm rim width, and
what it allows for aerodynamics, rolling resistance, and
bike handling are what make the C2, and the new Jet
wheels revolutionary.
First, the rim itself. With
exacting CAD design and the resulting extrusion dies
that can be machined from the instructions in a CAD
file, HED can make a 23mm wide rim that weighs no more
than the 19mm rims that were standard for the industry
(including HED) for years. The additional width actually
makes the C2 rim stiffer laterally than a 19mm version.
With a better rim to start from,
the Jet wheels are faster. Jets are made for 23mm tires.
Larger tires have lower rolling resistance than smaller
versions. They put more rubber on the road for better
cornering traction. They require less psi to support the
same load as a 19mm tire. 23mm tires are superior – now
that we have the proper rim for them. With the C2 rim,
tire width matches rim width, so the wheel is more aero.
The tire sidewalls are part of the aero shape of the
entire wheel, they don’t bulge over the brake track like
they do on a 19mm rim. The same straightened sidewalls
support the tire better in hard cornering and out of the
saddle efforts, so the complete tire is more rigid and
less squirmy. Stiffer is more efficient than squirmy,
and more efficient is faster.
Jets are all built everyday
strong. At a mere 979g Jet 9 is an excellent race wheel,
and it happens to be strong enough for everyday use by
sub 190lb riders. Over 190 lbs? You need HED's Stallion
build. As a front wheel they are a good choice for
athletes that ride at 25mph or faster in light and
medium wind conditions. For those athletes that are
riding 25mph or less the front wheel should be reserved
for days when the winds are light. Use of HED's wind yaw
calculator can help you determine what is ideal for you.

HED Jet - 6 Front Flamme

The final 1000 meters leading to the finish line –
at the Tour there is a red pennant marking the last
kilometer. At the Giro, riders hit the Ultimo Kilometro.
When the race gets to the Flamme Rouge, nothing is held
back. The sprinters trains are at full speed, or the
breakaway riders are eying each other tensely, or the
climbers are grimacing as they struggle for the valuable
seconds that could put them on the top step. The Flamme
Rouge marks the point where you give it everything.
It marks the same thing for Hed.
Flamme Rouge wheels are the ultimate. If it can save
weight or save watts, we use it. The aero section
on Jet 6 FR wheels is molded from a stiffer and lighter
1K fabric, saving 42 g per rim. Flamme Rouge Sonic hubs
are built to the same exacting tolerances as regular
sonics, but reduce weight with a carbon hub shell and
forged titanium ratchet ring. Abec5 bearings are used
for durability and low rolling resistance. Ti skewers
are lighter than stock steel ones. The Scandium alloyed

where everything counts; Flamme Rouge wheels are built
for one thing only. They are built to win.
